Two sheep per kilo, or a surprising number of

Beating the next, already perhaps the one hundredth pounds of nails, I thought - and in fact, that such an interesting can tell quite a trivial design, as usual, unremarkable at first glance the subject.

And it turned out that there are some pretty interesting facts about the nail.

Hopefully, next time when you pick up a nail, you will remember them and appreciate this great invention of our ancestors. So:

It turns out, the nails have been known as the Stone Age - if they were made of animal bones, spines, or plants a tree. Only later, in the Bronze Age, the first metal nails - cast and wrought iron. And still later, in an era when people have mastered the iron nails were doing just out of it.

Our ancestors in the territory of modern Russia are familiar with nails around XIII-th century. That is, estimations on the first nail in the Russian construction - no less than 700 years! That's Grandpa!

More interestingly, that the nails used to be expensive, and a kilo of nails could help out one or two sheep. Surprising was the profession - nailer! Everything was done manually using a hammer and a bugle.

Well, at last, saying the reminder to builders:

On one tack than not hang nail the sea does not nagreesh.

Good luck on the construction site!
