Metal door for frame house

Ugh, something sucked me mania construction, Long time no write my own, I want to speculate, as I will tomorrow to install a metal door in front karkasnik.


Building my frame house on the sly moves, although not as fast as we would like. Now foam insulated room, all in white, and then there's birthday happened, and dropped me as a gift a few thousand of our relatives rubles. How specifically, the store saw the metal door of unknown Chinese company "Schild" as much for 3945 rubles. Must be taken, I decided, since cheaper than you can imagine, but in my house more and not have to, because there is nothing superfluous beauty attract crooks.

When built the frame - had planned the door 90 cm wide, so the opening made by such size, ie a little more, namely, by 6-7 cm, but, unfortunately, referred to China's door has a width of the landing of 88 cm, so that the gap will narrow. This is not fatal, of course, but still.

So: complete with door hardware comes in the form of anchors, which is absolutely not fit if you install a door in karkasnik. So we have to buy more powerful capercaillie (14-16 mm in diameter) with washers, and they, in fact, put the door. Gap around the boxes will froth foam.

Frankly, the installation of a metal door in karkasnik not much different from installing a brick house, and if we do not take the difference in the bracket, - so far almost 100% identical. But the only thing - I would recommend to put the door below the finish floor, so you can make the nut - this will stop the direct flow of air from under the door when it suddenly happens. In all other respects, as usual - put the door in the doorway, brought the horizontal and vertical, rasklinili its temporary wooden wedges, consolidated hardware (in our case, grouse), and always with the door closed filled the gap around the jamb foam. Let the door and the metal, but it's cheap so as in the case of wooden doors, I'll put in thin strips to the porch to avoid wedging the door and jamb with hardening foam.

Recommend that before pouring the foam to glue the whole jamb masking tape to avoid incidents and excesses by the ingress of foam on the jamb and the door itself - torture then scour. Even better - do not remove packaging doors (doors are often wrapped in foil in the sale) during the installation.
